Heintzman Piano History

The Heintzman Piano Company was founded in Toronto in 1866 by Theodore August Heintzman, a German immigrant to Canada. Before establishing his own company, Heintzman worked in the German piano-manufacturing industry alongside members of the Steinway family. That influence can be seen in his commitment to exceptional craftsmanship, lasting quality, and longevity.

Vintage Canadian-made Heintzman pianos are often called “the Steinways of Canada” because of their rich tone, durable construction, and fine workmanship. The company changed hands several times before Canadian production ended in 1987.

Pianos produced more recently under the Heintzman name should not be confused with the original instruments handcrafted in Canada.

You will not be disappointed with a Heintzman in your living room or music studio! We back out work with a 2-year mechanical warranty.
