This pristine Mason & Hamlin concert grand, new in 2006, is a wonderful example of the powerful, expressive sound that Mason & Hamlin is known for.

Originally placed in a one-owner home, this piano has been carefully maintained by Jim Reeder himself and remains in excellent condition. It offers a rich, full bass, a clear and melodic treble, and the impressive tonal presence expected from a true concert grand.

Equipped with large double brass locking castors and a matching artist bench, this instrument is well suited for a concert venue, church, teaching studio, or serious pianist’s home.

A beautifully maintained American concert grand, ready for its next home.

This piano has been inspected and is in excellent condition. We will be replacing the hammers and doing a full regulation, tuning and voicing. The case will be hand-rubbed to freshen the finish. It will be like new once finished.

We back our work with a 2-year mechanical warranty.

A new Mason & Hamlin piano is indeed a wonderful piano, and the 9'4" size is still made today. New, the piano costs about $212,049. Priced at less than half the cost of a new, this piano won't last long!

Mason & Hamlin Piano History

In 1854 Henry Mason and Emmons Hamlin founded the Mason & Hamlin piano company in Boston, MA. This was the beginning of a long lasting relationship that brought innovative applications to the design of the piano, including the "tension resonator" and the "screw stringer" mechanism. While the Screw Stringer mechanism is no longer used today, the tension resonator device is still incorporated into the Mason design.

The Mason & Hamlin company enjoyed success in the US until the great depression of 1930, when they became part of the Aeolian-American company. They continued to be produced as a high level instrument until the 1980's when the large company dissolved. The Mason & Hamlin name changed hands a few times until 1996 when it was bought by the Brothers Kirk & Gary Burgett, who still own the company today.

Mason & Hamlin is one of two piano brands that are still made in the USA today, although their Artist & Classic series grands are made in China.
